Stolen Bikes Vancouver is a community effort run by the Terminal City Riders team. Our goal is to provide a place for people to share pictures of their recently stolen bikes, to allow folks to tell us stories of how they found their bike, learn how thieves managed to steal their bike in the first place and to provide helpful articles on preventing bike theft.
Standard Warning: Cable Locks Aren’t Locks!
LOTS of the bikes we see reported stolen on Stolen Bikes Vancouver were locked up with nothing more than a cable lock. Cable locks aren’t locks, they will not stop even the most casual bike thief. Here’s a quick video showing just how easily a cable lock can be cut using a common pair of handheld cable cutters:
